How to improve concentration with meditation



Breathing meditation can quite the mind, open the body and develop a great power of concentration.
In this page, we will talk about meditation for concentration. There are in fact some meditation techniques that are very effective in honing one's ability to concentrate. In this article, I will introduce variation of the breathing meditation that can you help you to develop higher concentration. Mindfulness and concentration  are distinctly different functions. They each have their  role to play in meditation, and the relation between them is definite and delicate.Concentration is one thing which helps to achieve your dream. If you can't concentrate on your work then whatever hours you put in work it does not going to be worked.

What is concentration?
Concentration is a state of mind where in a person's mind is focused or points all its attention on a particular object, objective, or benefit. The word is also a application to the act and process of having this particular state of mind. In this state of mind, there is the element of control, direction, will, and action in this particular state. It can involve mental visualization, the will, and repeated recitation. There are thousands of objects of attention that are classically prescribed for developing concentration.

How to do concentration meditation?

The practice of meditation will definitely improve our powers of concentration. Actually, when we try to meditate, it is concentration that is the first thing we need to master. A daily period of meditation gives us the chance to work specially on concentration techniques.  There are basically three types to increase your concentration to eliminate all distractions, whether there are external or internal. Remember, you are not competing anyone for anything, not even your self, your aim is to enhance your concentration skills, not to get  frustrated or stressed-up.

1. Focus on your breathing: While meditation breathing is one of the primary traditional means of developing and exercising concentrative power. You just sit in a comfortable place and clear all thoughts from your mind. Now focus on your breathing as you inhale and exhale.

2. Try and not move: While you are doing for the first time meditation you feel uncomfortable for sitting in one position for long time is impossible. But if you do regularly this meditation you will habituate and you will  concentrated on it.

3. Use a mantra: Once if your comfortable in doing meditation find a mantra of your choice. Mantra meditation has become more popular in recent year. It requires consistent practice, but it is simple and can effect many positive changes in your life.



Techniques for concentration meditation:

Here are several techniques enlisted to be used in meditation of concentration. Read and decide which type is best for you.

Zazen (breathing concentration): Meditation can be an invaluable means to de-stress. If you are feeling  under pressure experimenting meditation can help. Zazen is a type of meditation unique with Zen Buddhism. It involves focusing on breath and remaining in the present movement. Find a place you cannot disturbed. Sitting with straight spine is best for effective meditation.Let you eyes relax, you can close them partially or completely.Now take three slow, deep breaths, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. After these tension reduces and you can breath naturally.

Vipasssana (concentration to sensations):Vipassana meditation also has enormous benefits in terms of stress reduction. Stress, by its nature, forces us to focus in a very narrow way on the issue that were stressed about. These method of vipassana meditation are practiced with the sole aim of attaining supreme consciousness by improving upon concentration level, that in turn helps in gathering mental strength. In vipassana meditation there are different types of skills, moods of functioning or qualities of consciousness.

Tratak (concentration to a candle flame): Tratak is an ideal meditation technique. With continuous practice, you will witness an increases in your alertness, confidence level, stability in thoughts and an ability to control situations that were previously difficult. You may also notice an improvement in your eye sight. Tratak  is very helpful in improving mental clarity and capacity.This method involves you to concentrate on candle flame. You try this in a dark room so that you can concentrate on flame easily. This method is effective on distracting your thoughts.
